Spero Family Services is Currently Growing and Expanding Our YouthBuild Program!
Spero is a multi-faceted social service agency that offers more than 10 programs to individuals, children, and families across the region. Our mission here at Spero is to offer hope, help and healing by providing Christ-centered human services to meet the ever-changing needs of individuals, families and communities.
Our YouthBuild Program is free program for low-income, young adults in need of a certificate of High School Equivalency (HSE/GED) who are between the ages of 16 and 24 years old. YouthBuild integrates work experience with education, occupational skills development in construction and other career pathways, support services, leadership development, and alumni success.
As a Case Manager you will provide a full array of case management services to clients, ensure individual treatment needs are being met, and established goals are being addressed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Case Management: Provide case management services for programs and clients as assigned. Duties may include locating and coordinating services for participants (child care, transportation, etc) and maintaining client files.
- Counseling: Provide individual & group counseling with clients. Duties may include maintaining current information regarding therapeutic interventions relevant to the populations served, preparing for counseling sessions to ensure productivity towards achieving the client’s goals during sessions, referral for additional services outside of agency.
- Career Counseling: Arrange individual career counseling sessions and provide needed supports to ensure success in employment placements. Duties may include preparing, presenting and administering job readiness curriculum, scheduling career related field trips, and serving as a liaison with employers.
- Follow-Up: Conduct follow-up regarding graduates/completers placement in, post-secondary education, or military. Duties may include maintaining regular contact to verify placement and documenting placement on-line in data sites as required. employment
- Documentation: Ensure all documentation and reports are accurate and completed in a timely manner. Duties may include individual treatment plans, case management services, court summaries, DOL reviews, and other documentation as needed.
- Other: Transport clients as needed, assist the Program Manager and serve as a backup in their absences, other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Must have high school diploma or equivalent, valid IL driver’s license, and be at least 21 years old. Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services field and previous counseling/case management experience preferred.
Skills: Must be organized, able to multi-task, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, basic computer skills, and detail oriented. Must be able to interact with, and relate to, diverse groups of people.
Miscellaneous: Must pass all pre-employment drug screens and background clearances. Must maintain driving clearances.

Pay: $20.19 - $25.64 per hour
