Our Foster Care Program provides homes in Southern Illinois for children ages birth to 21. Our program also provides ongoing training and support to foster parents, who are an integral part of each child’s treatment team. As an Adoption and Permanency Specialist you will provide a variety of tasks, in collaboration with other staff, to help improve permanency outcomes and ensure the best interests of the clients are met.
Key Responsibilities
Skills: Must be organized, able to multi-task, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, basic computer skills, and detail oriented. Must be able to interact with, and relate to, diverse groups of people.
Miscellaneous: Must pass all pre-employment drug screens and background clearances. Must maintain the ability to transport clients per DCFS standards. Must be willing to travel and work flexible hours to meet the needs of the program. Required to work in clients’ homes and community settings.

Key Responsibilities
- Case Management: Assist other staff in providing case management services to facilitate the timely achievement of permanency clients. Duties may include identifying linkages, developing permanency plans, securing necessary services and resources, ensuring approval of subsidies, and attending Child and Family Team meetings.
- Client Outcomes: Review case records and data to assess achievement of program permanency goals and identify opportunities for improvement. Duties may include identifying barriers to permanency and possible solutions, oversee regular permanency reviews, and relaying necessary information to the Program Manager.
- Documentation: Ensure all documentation and reports are accurate and completed in a timely manner. Duties may include subsidy documentation, DCFS approvals, court documents, and consultation contacts.
- Other: Participate in on-call rotation as assigned and other duties as assigned
