Description
A Foster Parent serves as a stable, empathetic caregiver who provides stabilized care to a child between the age group of 12-18 years who has special needs that may range from routine to highly complex. In addition to providing a safe, healthy and nurturing environment, the foster parent will meet the developmental and emotional needs of the child to include maintaining and promoting a healthy relationship with the child’s biological parents.
Qualifications
- Requires a High School diploma or equivalent, some college desirable
- 5-7 years of proven, quality experience in social services preferred
- Current or previously licensed foster care providers preferred
- Pass background, criminal and sex offender clearances as required (to include members of the household, age 13 and older)
- Able to comply with IL Rule Part 402 Licensing Standards for Foster Family Homes
- Requires successful completion of Foster PRIDE/Adopt PRIDE; Educational Advocacy, and UMCH trainings
