Spero Family Services is looking for a dedicated and caring individual to join our team as a Home Coordinator for our Residential Treatment Program. As a Home Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in providing guidance, mentorship, and support to the youth we serve. While our primary focus is to support the youth’s mental health needs, we also provide opportunities for growth in spirituality, social skills, education, life skills, and recreation both on and off campus. The Home Coordinator will also play an important role in leading and supporting our direct support staff. We believe in the power of community and teamwork, not just for our youth but for our staff as well. Our Residential Treatment staff work together to provide the best environment for our youth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Program Management: Provide oversight to the program and ensure client needs are being met.
• Staffing and Supervision: Oversee the staffing and indirect supervision of employees as assigned.
• Program Support: Assist direct support staff in providing direct supervision to youth in the program.
• Documentation: Ensure all documentation and reports are accurate and completed in a timely manner.
• Treatment Culture: Ensure the program activities, groups, and programming align with the agency’s CARE philosophy.
• Other: Participate in on-call rotation as necessary.
• This position will require a minimum of 2 evening shifts per week, evening shifts must include 1 Friday or Saturday.

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent, at least 25 years old, and a valid Illinois driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services field OR MHP qualified per Medicaid standards, previous experience in 24/7 care and previous supervisory experience

Skills: Must be organized, able to multi-task, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, basic computer skills, and detail oriented. Must be able to interact with, and relate to, diverse groups of people. Must be able to demonstrate leadership skills and have the ability to recognize and report issues or concerns pertaining to program operations. Must have the strength/mobility needed to perform Therapeutic Crisis Intervention.

Miscellaneous: Must pass all pre-employment drug screens, health screens, and background clearances. Must maintain driving clearances.

Program Population: The youth in this program have a complexity of mental health issues/disorders. The intensity of these mental health issues warrants placement in a highly structured, supervised and safe therapeutic environment. The focus of the program is to provide crisis stabilization/management, behavioral management, and clinical treatment in effort to reduce the mental health disturbance and assist the youth in returning to a less restrictive setting. Due to the severity of youth’s mental health issues in their program the use of physical restraints and/or seclusion are necessary at time.

Pay: From $22.76 per hour
