What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Treatment Medical Services Coordinator position at Spero Family Services?
Spero is a multi-faceted social service agency that offers more than 10 programs to individuals, children, and families across the region. Our mission here at Spero is to offer hope, help and healing by providing Christ-centered human services to meet the ever-changing needs of individuals, families and communities.
Our Residential Treatment Programs provide intensive treatment to youth ages 12-21 to address their trauma. Youth in these programs reside on our campus and receive services from a multidisciplinary treatment team with the goal of stepping down to a less restrictive environment. As the Medical Services Coordinator you will provide support to the Nurse in overseeing the medical needs of the youth in our Residential Treatment programs and ensuring compliance with governing standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Support: Assist the Nurse with various administrative tasks. Duties may include filing, client consents, participating in staffings when the Nurse is unavailable, scheduling appointments, and transporting clients to appointments.
- Documentation: Assist with completing all required documentation and reports and ensure they are accurate and completed in a timely manner. Duties may include maintaining client medical files, documenting interactions with youth, data management.
- Other: Other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Must be at least 21 years old, have high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid Illinois driver’s license. LPN and 1 year of experience in 24/7 care or child welfare preferred.
Skills: Must be organized, able to multi-task, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, basic computer skills, and detail oriented. Must be able to interact with, and relate to, diverse groups of people. Must have the strength/mobility needed to perform Therapeutic Crisis Intervention.
Miscellaneous: Must pass all pre-employment drug screens and background clearances. Must maintain driving clearances and be able to lift/carry items weighing at least 15-30 lbs. Must be willing to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the program.
