We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Payroll Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will oversee full-cycle payroll processing while ensuring regulatory compliance, optimizing operational processes, and managing key department initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in handling complex payroll operations within multi-state or multi-jurisdictional environments and will be adept at analyzing data, managing vendor relationships, and driving continuous improvements across business operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full-Cycle Payroll Processing : Process the complete payroll cycle for a diverse employee base, ensuring timely and accurate payments in accordance with all relevant regulations.
  • Compliance and Documentation : Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local payroll regulations. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of processes, contracts, and agreements to support compliance audits and internal reviews.
  • Technical Proficiency : Extensive experience with payroll software systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, Paychex) and a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Process Optimization : Identify inefficiencies within existing payroll and operational processes. Propose and implement improvements designed to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
  • Project Management : Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, execute, and track projects related to business operations. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget while meeting quality standards.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting : Analyze payroll and operational data to generate comprehensive reports that provide insights into performance trends. Use these insights to support strategic decision-making and operational improvements.
  • Vendor Management : Maintain effective relationships with key vendors. Negotiate contracts and ensure that the delivery of goods and services meets established quality standards and budget requirements.
  • Issue Resolution & Audit Support : Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, serving as the primary point of contact for both internal and external audits by providing thorough documentation and analysis.

Experience :

  • 5-8 years of progressively responsible payroll administration experience, including exposure to multi-state or complex payroll environments.
  • In-depth understanding of payroll tax regulations and labor laws.
  • Proven experience in project management, process optimization, and data analysis.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and a keen eye for detail.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts.
  • Education :

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred.
  • Certifications such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) are highly desirable.
