Responsibilities
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Operate and maintain the B-Scan Portable Flaw Detector (Walking Stick).
Hand-test locations indicated by the portable detector.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Generate daily reports as required by the customer.
- Operate and maintain the testing equipment as required.
- Communicate daily with the customer concerning schedule, daily production, and work locations.
- Communicate with company management regularly.
- Complete weekly expense, and other reports as required by the customer or Sperry and submit them in a timely manner.
- Drive to different testing locations daily.
- Ensure company vehicle is maintained in good condition and serviced as required.
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE:
- Interacts with field personnel
- Interacts with customer's personnel.
- Interacts across departmental boundaries.
- Scope: Actions have a direct impact on the success of the Company.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
While some work will be completed in the office, most work will be performed outside in varying weather conditions during all seasons of the year.
SAFETY:
Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment. Report any safety violations or fault conditions to the supervisor. Attend company safety meetings and participate in safety-related conference calls.

Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma/GED
- Graduate of Sperry School of Rail Testing in B Scan WS
- Ability to work alone without direct supervision
- Good organization and problem-solving skills
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Some knowledge of smartphone and computer usage including sending and receiving e-mail
- Valid driver's license
