POSITION OVERVIEW
This position will carry out testing in the Killbuck Lab manufacturing facility. The lab tech will be responsible for rubber compound testing using rheometer, durometer, per customer testing requirements, among other data.
RESPONSIBILITES
- Verify every batch mixed in the Millroom by testing rheometer, durometer, and Mooney viscosity.
- Complete annual testing of all active compounds.
- Weigh up and mix lab batches on small scale lab mill.
- Assist engineers in organizing and directing team members to align with production needs and goals.
- Communicate expectations on production, quality and scrap to Mill room operators.
- Ensure a safe working environment is maintained and that safe work practices are followed at all times.
- Investigate quality issues found in the area and report any issues to Quality Manager.
- Investigate part defects when needed.
- Prepare material certifications for shipments and quality documentation.
- Assist in the Implementation and maintaining of company policies and standards.
- Create solid communication within and across departments.
- Perform all job responsibilities within lab department as required.
REQUIREMENTS RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ability to move/lift 25 lbs.
- Must be able to operate testing equipment
- Must be able to create, organize and set testing procedures and record results.
- Basic reading, writing and math skills.
- Ability to read and measure with caliper and tape measure.
- Strong attention to detail for quality assurance.
- Have knowledge of ISO or IATF procedures.
- Experience in mixing of raw materials preferred, experience with rubber a plus.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must follow all safety procedures
