Who We Want
Spevco is seeking an entry-level fabrication helper to support our Customs team. We build cool custom trailers and other Special Event Vehicles. We want someone who can bring a basic knowledge level, a strong work ethic, and a desire to learn more. You do need to come to us with a basic understanding of working in a fabrication/mechanic shop, with and around tools, and how to be safe while doing it.
What You’ll Really Be Doing
Spevco’s fabricators do a lot around here. Some specialize in metalwork and welding. Others specialize in cabinet building and detail carpentry. Some are jack-of-all-trades and can also do a little mechanical, electrical, and automotive work. We're not asking that you have all of these skills, but you will be exposed to all of these and will be asked to assist across all of these tasks.
- Reading engineering drawings
- Using/reading tape measures
- Handling, preparing, and cutting material (may be steel, aluminum, wood, plastics, etc)
- Assisting with wiring trailers and vehicles
- Assisting with other manufacturing tasks where necessary
- Always following safety guidelines
- Having fun in the process
What You Get Paid
This position is paid competitively on an hourly basis, and our offer will be determined by your level of experience and expertise.

Nitty Gritty Requirements

- Adherence to all Safety Policies
- 1-year experience in a fabrication/mechanics shop
- Mechanical abilities; basic skill in using tools such as saws, drills, grinders, cut-off wheels, clamps, levels, and tape measures
- Ability to read cut lists and engineering drawings for the purpose of cutting and assembling various materials
- You must be able to supply your own basic hand/power tools
- Always communicating with clarity
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to maintain a professional and clean workspace, and assist in shop housekeeping as required
- Strong safety mindset and willingness to be part of and promote our safety culture
- Team player who is willing to learn from others
Physical & Mental Requirements
Must have the physical and mental strength and endurance to be able to perform duties, in at times extreme environments, as well as the ability to handle stressors of the position. Required to frequently lift and move 10-75 pounds. Expected to stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, talk, hear, smell, see, and operate objects, tools, and controls.
