Fabrication Operator
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for fabricating components using a variety of production equipment. This position is the starting point of the production process.
Essential Functions:
- Proficiently operates shears, saw, miter, benders and other misc. equipment
- Fabricate components using a variety of production equipment
- Perform quality checks and in process monitoring
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks
- Maintain accurate records of material consumption and WIP
- Select “best fit” raw material blanks for cut sheet.
- Cut material per router (internal paperwork that details each job).
- Load racks with the steel and parts associated with each job.
- Pull stainless steel sheets off holding racks in a way to decrease scratches.
- Adherence to all safety requirements required within this work area.
- Perform additional duties as deemed appropriate by the supervisor of this position.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Read and Interpret technical drawings
- Read tape measure to 1/32”
- After provided training on the business software, attain a proficiency level necessary to perform the functions of the position.
- Promote a Safe Work Environment
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Certified to operate PIV
- Attain basic product line knowledge.
- Able to work with a team and independently.
- Have basic mathematical knowledge.
- Ability to concentrate on tasks while dealing with multiple interruptions.
- Possess a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills
Minimum Required Experience or Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent vocational school
- Minimum 3-4 years’ experience working in a manufacturing setting or fabrication specific vocational training
- Fundamental knowledge of metal cutting and machining practices
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
