Who are we hiring?

The Senior Manager, Merchandise Strategy will be responsible for all branded merchandise focusing on the Sphere evergreen collection, limited releases, and special events. This includes our Merchandise strategy for both The Sphere Experience and any other partnerships. They will oversee the end-to-end process of managing product development from concept to customer, with guidance from brand, live, analytics, and customer teams. This position is accountable for revenue management and product strategy, including product mix, brand integration, product design, buying, and promotional strategies, in-venue and across other channels as applicable.

What will you do?

  • Manage the strategic plan for all products, including development of product, curation of assortments, pricing, inventory management and profitability, marketing and in-venue execution and customer experience. Collaborate with cross functional teams (e.g., designers, marketing, partnerships, business operations, VIP, Premium, Live, and in-venue merchandising team) to enhance the strategy.
  • Develop and execute buying strategies and marketing plans for all products sold in-store and online. Manage online merchant relationship.
  • Manage all facets of vendor relationships - introducing new domestic and international vendors, negotiations, buy backs, and COGS, as well as internal elements like placing orders, processing invoices, etc.
  • Coordinate with Marketing Strategy team to develop creative materials including product design, style guides, packaging direction and promotional point of purchase and sale materials.
  • Evaluate trends in the marketplace via trade shows, trade publications and competitive shopping to introduce new vendors, develop exclusive elevated products, ensure competitive pricing structure.
  • Work with Analytics team to assess overall business trends and applying insights to inform assortment (in-venue and online) buy strategy, channel strategy, and make any adjustments necessary.
  • Establish and manage inventory levels to seasonal plans and constantly adjust based on actual sales to ensure inventory turnover and minimal carry-over / markdown liabilities.
  • Create and analyze daily / weekly sales reports to propose product movement and rotation, including between onsite and online channels.
  • Partner with Venue Operations and Warehouse teams on all logistics - shipping, receiving, and tracking / managing inventory, as well as on-site during events to actively assess the business, identify improvement areas and maximize revenue.

What do you need to succeed?

  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' retail buying and strategy experience in the Las Vegas market
  • Comprehensive knowledge of product strategy, development, merchandising, licensing, and marketing in diverse retail and wholesale segments
  • Ability to work across functional teams and building relationships is essential
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to mobilize key stakeholders, and engage with all levels in the organization
  • Adept at maintaining a positive, open, approachable, and professional relationship with a diverse group.
  • Ability to demonstrate success in managing multiple tasks while under tight deadlines
  • Demonstrates knowledge of strategic planning and budgeting
  • Proactive self-starter with exceptional data-driven analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Strong excel capability required)
  • Understanding of licensed product guidelines preferred
  • Direct relationship with key branded suppliers to secure new product development preferred
  • Strong contract bidding and negotiation skills to achieve ideal cost structures is optimal.
  • Familiar with product inventory systems such as EDI preferred
  • Special Requirements (physical demands, non-traditional hours, travel etc.)

  • Ability to work irregular schedule (nights, weekends, holidays) to support the retail environment during events
  • Ability to adapt and pivot while working under tight timelines and budgets

    Pay Range

    96,000-$150,000 USD
