Event Security Officer (Part-Time)

DescriptionWho are we hiring?Pay Range: $26/hr. Security Officer will assist and ensure the protection of the guests, employees, facilities and property of Madison Square Garden including Sphere. What will you do?Responsible for checking bags and screening guests and employees to ensure overall safety. Controls access to the arena. Screens visitors, vehicles, and equipment entering the venue . Assisting and controlling guest ingress and egress. Secures TV trucks, equipment, and personnel entering and exiting the venue’s loading docks in support of venue   Observes and reports on security threats along the building’s perimeter such as: crime, scalper activity, loitering, and surveillance activity (of performers, players, venue activity) Escorts guests, clients, employees, artists, performers and players into and out of the venue. . Learns and executes venue security response, access control, and evacuation plans. This role will cover various indoor and outdoor posts as assigned.Respond to all security assistance calls during events/operating hours.Any and all other security related tasks as directed by Security Management.What do you need to succeed?Security experience with an understanding of security procedures and guest relationsFamiliarity with radios, Closed Circuit Television Systems and other security devices.Must have the ability and interpersonal skills to effectively assist guests, clients and employees. Will be a team player and self-motivator Excellent written and verbal communication skills.   SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:  Must be able to successfully complete physical fitness examination.  Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, have split days off, work weekends and holidays in a 24 X 7 environmentGeneral physical requirements such as lifting 25 lbs., standing for long periods, walking long distances, bending and constant motion is often required.
