The Professional Division of Spherion Mid-Ohio is partnered with a family-owned organization for more than 40 years in Mansfield, Ohio seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join their team! Flexible work schedule and Salary range is $60K to $80K Bonus -based on skill set and experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Education: Minimum of Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Experience: 5 years of accounting experience.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar), and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and present complex financial data.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members across departments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- General Ledger Management: Oversee general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing procedures.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes, providing financial analysis and insight to support decision-making.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Review and approve accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments and collections.
- Audit Support: Prepare and coordinate documentation for internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
- Tax Compliance: Assist with tax preparation, filings, and compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting and operations.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments and leadership, providing financial insight and support as needed.
- Other Duties: will be responsible for tracking vacations and sick time.
