What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Field Technician position at Spherion NWA?
Level 2 Technicians are needed for an ongoing project! The project consists of installing Server and Hardware Refresh components at customer locations across the United States. As a Traveling Field Technician, you will be responsible for performing on-site installation, maintenance, and repair of technical systems and equipment.
Low Voltage Experience is required.
Must have the desire to travel extensively throughout the U.S., work flexible hours, and be dispatched for the length of the project. The company is located in NWA, and all roll-outs are based out of their headquarters.
You will work closely with customers and internal teams to ensure the proper functioning of systems and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
On-site Installation and Setup:
Travel to different field locations to install and set up technical equipment
Ensure that installations are completed according to specifications and meet quality standards
Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance
Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, performing repairs as needed
Collaborate with the technical support team to resolve complex problems
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of equipment installations, maintenance activities, and repairs
Prepare detailed reports on service visits, including findings and solutions implemented
Must have valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record that allows the employee to safely drive Company owned vehicle while deployed
Qualifications
3-5 years of experience in a similar field technician role
Ability to quickly and accurately install Point of Sale (POS) systems and Network Hardware
Proficient in diagnosing and repairing technical equipment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to convey technical information to non-technical individuals
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
Ability to think quickly and make decisions in high-pressure situations
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED is required.
Low voltage and Cat 5 experience required
3 years' verifiable experience in structured cabling and network hardware installations is preferred.
Advanced computer skills.
Pay Rate:
Paid per site completed - Average $1,250 per week
Travel time paid at $15.60 per hour
Training time paid at $18.60 per hour
Per Diem $40.00 per day
