Maintenance Technician

Spherion Staffing & Recruiting is seeking a Maintenance Technician for a local company in Rockford, IL. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of equipment- steam boilers, water chillers, cooling towers, well pumps, HVAC, and other various plant utility equipment.

• Pay rate: $23-28/hr.

Responsibilities:

• Support the Preventive Maintenance program to reduce unscheduled downtime continually.
• Analyze problems and interpret technical information necessary to make required repairs (troubleshooting of equipment issues).
• Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on production machinery and facility support equipment.
• Inspect, operate, and test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunction and validate work performed.
• Ensure safety by following all company policies
• Troubleshoot equipment as well as plant mechanical systems and develop sustainable solutions accordingly
• Complete all assigned work orders on time, maintain complete records of work performed using software, work orders, and detailed logs.
• Assist with equipment changeovers and line startups, troubleshooting issues as needed.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement also provides suggestions to improve processes and participates in team projects

Qualifications:

• Proficient with Boiler, chiller, or HVAC
• Food manufacturing experience is preferred
• Strong mechanical background in maintaining, troubleshooting, and installing bearings, seals and gaskets
• Technician training in maintenance related field or 3 years of experience in industrial equipment maintenance
