Our law firm, located in Red Bank, NJ, is seeking a distinguished Associate Commercial Litigation Attorney to handle a diverse caseload of complex commercial disputes.
About the Role
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on intricate commercial litigation matters in a collaborative, high-energy environment. Please note, this is not a traditional 40-hour workweek role. Depending on the demands of active cases, some late nights and weekends may be required.
Responsibilities
- Case Management: Handle all aspects of commercial litigation cases from inception to resolution, including strategy development and client communication.
- Legal Research & Writing: Conduct thorough legal research and draft persuasive motions, briefs, pleadings, and legal memoranda.
- Discovery: Manage discovery processes, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, document requests, and subpoenas, as well as conducting depositions.
- Court Representation: Appear in federal and state courts for hearings, trials, mediations, and arbitrations.
- Client Interaction: Provide sound legal counsel to clients, keeping them informed of case progress and strategy.
- Negotiations: Engage in settlement discussions and negotiations to resolve disputes efficiently when appropriate.
- Compliance: Stay up-to-date with changes in laws, regulations, and case law affecting commercial litigation in New Jersey.
Requirements
- Experience: 2-6 years of experience in commercial litigation (experience in personal injury does not qualify).
- Skills:
- Strong research and writing abilities.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize work effectively.
- Exceptional oral advocacy and negotiation skills.
- Work Ethic: Willingness to commit to extended hours as needed, including evenings and weekends.
- Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- License: Admission to the New Jersey Bar (New York Bar admission is a plus).
