Project Hydrogeologist – Groundwater and Surface Water
Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid)

This role involves conducting fieldwork, collecting and analyzing data, managing project teams, and ensuring the successful completion of technical deliverables. Project Hydrogeologist – Groundwater and Surface Water

LRE Water is seeking a Project Hydrogeologist to join our team in supporting groundwater supply and management projects. This role involves conducting fieldwork, collecting and analyzing data, managing project teams, and ensuring the successful completion of technical deliverables. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in hydrogeology, field data collection, and project coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Field Data Collection & Analysis: Collect groundwater, surface water, and soil samples for laboratory analysis. Evaluate and manage hydrogeologic data in support of groundwater supply and management projects.
- Technical Reporting & Modeling: Develop borehole lithology logs, as-built well construction diagrams, and groundwater flow models based on site-specific data. Support the creation of hydrogeologic conceptual models using available data and resources.
- Instrumentation & Monitoring: Deploy, operate, and maintain groundwater and surface water monitoring instruments.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with subcontractors, contractors, and clients to ensure project success. Facilitate communication between team members and ensure project requirements, deadlines, and schedules are met.
- Project Management: Assist with project scope development, schedule management, and budget monitoring. Ensure project deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Client & Stakeholder Communication: Maintain exceptional client relationships through effective communication, status reports, and data requests. Coordinate with geophysical subcontractors for surveys.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to Health and Safety Plans and ensure all activities comply with company safety standards.
- 4 years of experience in hydrogeology, groundwater supply, or related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) certification preferred, or the desire/ability to obtain certification.
- Proficiency with hydrogeology and engineering software (ArcGIS, Leapfrog, MODFLOW, Petra, Python, R, etc.).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for technical reports and client interactions.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
