LRE Water reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted salary range depending on experience. Position Summary
- Performs moderate engineering tasks with standard techniques.
- This position will focus on the application of digital technology (databases and programming) to projects across all of LRE Water’s service areas, supporting the development of client-facing analytical tools, numerical and spreadsheet models, data visualization tools and data management systems.
Technical
- Environmental data collection and analysis including but not limited to, streamflow, water quality, groundwater monitoring, GIS data and biological surveys.
- Provide data collection and processing support including writing scripts for automation and leveraging of APIs, as well as manual and scripted. manipulation of data in spreadsheets and text files of varying formats.
- Transfer data between formats to make it more appropriate for analysis and reporting.
- Execute SQL programming tasks to support building, maintaining and automating relational database systems (using PostgreSQL and plpgSQL).
- Under direction of the lead database programmer, build new PostgreSQL database servers, databases, tables, views and functions (using pgAdmin, dBeaver, or similar open source client tools).
- Under direction of the lead database programmer, update existing PostgreSQL database content (tables, views, functions, etc) in response to client requests.
- Create and maintain documentation for processing, systems architecture and access credentials, including creation and maintenance of entity relationship diagrams.
- Implement testing and review procedures to ensure consistency and conformity of data.
- Work with various team members to support their data and database needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Understand the scope of services as outlined in project contract and identifies when/if client requests are out of scope, communicating with supervisor accordingly.
- Monitors project deadlines as it relates to deliverables within one’s responsibilities.
- Complete work products and procedures in time allotted.
- Prepare status updates on assigned tasks.
- Connect locally with relevant networks to build a network of professional connections. Participate in presentations where applicable.
- Provide technical support for proposal development.

Years of Experience
- 2 years.
- Valid Driver's License, EIT (if applicable), and task specific.
- Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience.
- Engineering software, Microsoft Suite, Google Earth, Company Software (ERP, CRM, HRM etc.), arcGIS and programming where applicable.
- Familiarity with relational databases required.
- Familiarity with the PostgreSQL database platform preferred.
- SQL programming experience preferred.
- Python and/or R programming experience preferred.
- General experience with GIS and spatial data manipulation preferred.
- Familiarity with React and JavaScript for web programming helpful.
