What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Application Engineer position at Spheros?

The Component Release Engineer is responsible for the functional performance of the electrical components applied on HVAC systems. The Release Engineer supports development of the HVAC system compliant with all functional and performance requirements. Create the technical requirements for supplier sourcing. Coordinate activities necessary to execute product development. This coordination requires the release engineer to align design, prototype, and test departments (thermal, reliability, EMC).
Your challenge…
- Integrator of components through hands-on interaction with the product
- Develop mechatronic components to achieve all performance, durability, and reliability targets.
- Originate and develop analysis methods and test plans to demonstrate reliability/performance of components and HVAC systems and determine the ability of the product to comply with customer contractual requirements.
- Create a timing plan to ensure all product development tasks meet the project’s milestones. Utilizes this plan to manage resources, prioritize tasks, and ensure on-time customer deliveries (For internal and external Customers).
- Contribute to project documentation such as, BOM, DFMA, FMEA’s, build concerns, validation test reports.
- Analyze and present specification compliance of supplier quoted components
- Manage regional component strategy to achieve both the technical demands of customers and company standardization efforts. Review corporate component specifications and incorporate global and regional need content.
- Provide technical expertise for other functions (warranty, plant process, management)
- Define HVAC component operating requirements to customer/3rd party control suppliers
- Integrate system into vehicle electrical/control/communication environment
- Coordinate development testing and hardware requirements (component drive interfaces, measurement)
- Provide mechanical/electrical technical support to Manufacturing, SQA and Quality teams through the implementation of changes to equipment, tooling or methods/processes.
- Assure the proper follow-up and closing of problems using data, Spheros/Customer methods and problem solving tools.
- Report functionally to the HVAC Engineering Manager for any Mechanical / Thermal / Thermodynamic / Acoustic issues and/or Enforcement of Engineering Guidelines.
Let's talk about you….
- Bachelor’s degree in E.E., or closely-related field
- 3 yrs exp. automotive mechatronic components
- Good organizational skills – self motivated, results oriented
- Strong documentation & communication skills for presentations/reports/interfacing internally & with customers
- Developing/maintaining/tracking test plans (DVP&R).
- Experienced with problem solving and utilization of problem solving tools (e.g., QRQC, Fishbone Diagram)
- Excellent interpersonal skills – International communication experience beneficial with global suppliers
- Vehicle network interfacing: LIN, CAN-bus / Vector tools
