Summary
As a Project Management Office (PMO) member, the intern will actively train on meaningful projects and work closely with the Senior Project Manager. This intern reports to a designated Project Manager and has the primary goal of learning project and program management principles, technologies, core operational functions, and the roles and responsibilities of working in a distribution company. A secondary goal is to achieve a cross-organizational understanding of how the industry works. The intern will be assigned special projects as needed.

A secondary goal is to achieve a cross-organizational understanding of how the industry works. The intern will be assigned special projects as needed.
Areas of responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- SPI is looking for a part-time project management intern interested in supporting the management of our technology projects in everyday operations.
- This position will be responsible for supporting members of the PMO on various tasks ranging from project initiation to project close-out.
- This role assists with daily project needs to ensure optimal coordination, tracking, and reporting.
- Assists with attending and facilitating project-related meetings, helping create and communicate meeting agendas, recording meeting minutes, tracking, and following up on action items, and assisting with data entry tasks.
- Supports the project manager's efforts to identify and define project requirements, scope, and objectives.
- Participates in project team meetings and manages project-related paperwork by ensuring all necessary materials are current, properly filed, and stored.
- Evaluate potential problems and issues and suggest solutions.
- Assist with current projects and coordinate all team members to keep workflow on track.
- Prepare project correspondences by preparing and reviewing project proposals, memos, meeting minutes, and emails.
- Assists with project deliverables and milestones.
- Aids in monitoring and tracking deliverables.
- Prepares status reports for project financial/technical components for review by internal/external stakeholders.
- Supports other general duties required by the Program Management Office.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Enrolled in an accredited college discipline for computer science, engineering, or information systems .
