Job Summary
Operations Managers oversee operational activities at every level of an organization. Their duties include hiring and training employees and managing quality assurance programs. An operations manager also strategizes process improvements to ensure everyone completes their tasks on schedule. The Operations Manager provides leadership, guidance, and supervision to all hourly employees in their respective departments. This is a collaborative environment and so you will work closely with all members of management staff and corporate resources to ensure that the highest quality of finished product is produced within in a safe and efficient manner.
As a Leader, people are the priority! You will actively coach/mentor employees to reach their optimum potential. This position is directly responsible to oversee and organize labor and processes on the production floor; responsible to complete the production plan for the shift and routine production activities as well as acting as first-line troubleshooting should problems arise.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Active engagement in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Morale.
- Lead the root cause/corrective action investigations for unplanned events.
- Ensure compliance with GMP’s and the Food Safety Plan.
- Lead, Motivate, and support Operation Supervisors and employees.
- Continuous Improvement in the areas of Cost, Quality, Service, People, and Environment is our goal.
- Proactively communicate and coordinate with supervisors and functions to optimize operations and resources.
- Establish work schedules and production schedules to meet the demands of customers.
- Work to enhance the financial impact of Line Efficiency, Material Yield, and Labor Productivity on plant budgets and develop Action Plans to address gaps.
- Oversee Material and Inventory.
- Addressing operational concerns and issues, monitoring overall customer satisfaction.
- Developing and implementing operational procedures and policies.
- Analyzing training needs/requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and organizing skills to coordinate project activities.
- Ability to communicate with others effectively.
- Ability to conduct research for special projects, respond timely inquiries, and present written/ oral briefings.
- Ability to work with details and time-sensitive issues.
- Good decision-making skills and response to high-pressure situations.
- Other duties as assigned by Site Director.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in program management, business or public administration, technical management, information systems, engineering, finance/accounting, or related fields; or equivalent experience
- Exceptional attention to detail and teamwork.
- Superb time-management and organizational skills.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- 5 - 8 years of experience
