Description
Our Quality Technicians provide ensure product safety, regulatory compliance, and compliance with company standards. Also, partners to drives Continuous Improvement efforts in product quality/performance and process optimization by training and finding solutions. Additional duties include:
- Food Safety: Review activities to ensure all Food Safety and Food Quality audit requirements are met. Review and sign off on documentation pertaining to all quality systems. Reviews all product used in the facility and ensures adherence to regulatory and Company standards. Assists in maintaining documentation of all required quality tests and activities. Follow standard guidelines with GMP's and monitor that all SOP's are being performed daily. Update records and keep records up to date for HAACP, BRC, and FSMA.
- Food Safety Deficiencies: Communicates findings regarding food safety. Assists with the training to plant employees regarding food safety deficiencies and corrective actions as needed. Maintain Food Safety and Quality by enforcing employee GMP’s and verifying compliance with receiving, storage, handling, processing and product release policies and procedures.
- Assist Investigations: Checks and investigates customer returns and complaints; follows up on possible reasons for complaint (temperature abuse, date expiry, over order, etc.). Performs micro analysis if required.
- Hold & Release: Manages the hold and release program, and takes appropriate action when any product fails to meet required specifications. Assist the Product Development Chef with product testing, nutritional analysis, acidified products evaluation, shelf life studies and challenge studies.
- Physical Requirements: ability to lift up to 50-lbs; ability to bend, stoop, twist repetitively and stand on concrete for full 8-hour shift: receptive to working in a refrigerated or high-heat environment as seasons change; his work is physically demanding and can require the use of some or all body parts and muscle groups. Some positions may require repetitive overhead lifting.
Requirements
The successful candidate will possess:
- A minimum of 1 year recent experience in Quality Assurance within a manufacturing environment;
- PCQI Certification and Experience with ERP systems as it applies to manufacturing is a plus!
- Physical demands: This position requires the ability to be constantly moving throughout the office and gift store which includes but not limited to walking, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing and standing for at least 8 hours a day. May occasionally involve bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching and climbing.
