What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager position at Spike Electric Controls?
The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing projects within the decided-upon budget, timeline, and scope. They will also effectively monitor and present project updates to relevant stakeholders, clients, or project team members.
Responsibilities/qualifications
► Must be able to Review POs with sales to match with Spike proposals"
► Effectively communicate with clients and internally to manage all aspects of large projects
► Create and manage project schedule on provided software platform
► Must be able to read, identify, and review parts according to (B.O.M.)
► Must be able to understand and consult with engineering on all drawings
► Must be able to understand ALL customer and Internal Dwgs and Specifications
► Must be familiar and understand NEC UL, ISO9001, general electrical codes
► Handle all aspects of customer scope changes.
► Must be able to read and follow SOP's as well as Work Instructions .
► Must be able to interface with customers and sales, to resolve issues.
► Manage project specific details through Microsoft Dynamics.
► Work with accounting on all invoice milestones
► Interface with purchasing on all material requirements
► Oversee all project related conflicts between the various departments
► Schedule all inspections and final FATs with vendors and clients
► Proactively identify and address project needs without waiting for direction, demonstrating strong initiative and self-direction in all tasks.
► Take full ownership of projects, managing all details and coordination to alleviate the sales team's workload, allowing them to concentrate on sales activities, with sales serving as consultants rather than primary project managers.
► Proactively take initiative in managing projects, demonstrating autonomy without the need for direct supervision, ensuring all tasks and responsibilities are anticipated and addressed efficiently.
► Assume full ownership of projects, facilitating the sales process by acting as the primary project lead, thereby allowing the sales team to concentrate on developing new business and client relationships.
► Collaborate closely with the purchasing department to ensure additional parts are procured at the most cost-effective prices, thereby maintaining and improving project margins.
► Continuously seek opportunities to reduce costs, including material expenses and overtime, to enhance project profitability and contribute to the company's overall financial performance.
► Create weekly material status report for each project assigned. They should be filed in the P: drive job folder under project management.
