Traffic Flagger

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Flagger to join our team. The Flagger will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of construction sites and roadwork areas by directing traffic and providing clear communication to both drivers and crew members. This position requires a strong understanding of traffic control procedures and the ability to work effectively in various weather conditions.

Duties

• Direct traffic flow around construction sites using appropriate hand signals and signage.
• Ensure the safety of workers and pedestrians by maintaining clear pathways.
• Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate work activities.
• Monitor site conditions and report any hazards or issues to supervisors.
• Assist in setting up and dismantling traffic control devices, including cones, signs, and barriers.
• Maintain a high level of awareness regarding surrounding vehicles and equipment.
• Collaborate with heavy equipment operators to ensure safe operations around the site.

Skills

• Experience with heavy equipment operation is preferred, including:

- Dump truck - Loader operation - Caterpillar - Utility locating - Bulldozer - Backhoe operation - Pave - Front loader truck - Grader operation * Strong communication skills to effectively relay information to drivers and team members.

• Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions for safety.
• Knowledge of traffic control procedures and safety regulations.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary, Contract

Pay: $165.00 - $215.00 per day

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
