SPIN Global is a Maryland-based public benefit corporation that exists to disrupt disasters from neighborhoods to nations. We are seeking qualified applicants to build a deployment-ready cadre, prepared to support response operations as opportunities arise. Applicants must possess a FEMA Entry on Duty (EOD).
Responsibilities
Conduct field investigations, including surveys and excavations, to document and preserve archaeological and historic sites.

Conduct field investigations, including surveys and excavations, to document and preserve archaeological and historic sites.
- Ensure compliance with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards and Guidelines for Archeology and Historic Preservation.
- Prepare detailed reports, including cultural resource assessments, findings, and recommendations for preservation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and government agencies to support FEMA's Public Assistance Programs.
- Provide technical expertise on FEMA Environmental and Historic Preservation (EHP) compliance, including review of project plans for cultural resource impacts.
- Utilize FEMA Grants Portal to manage documentation and maintain transparency in reporting.
- Educate stakeholders on the importance of archaeological preservation and related policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field with 5 years of experience in a related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Secretary of the Interior's Standards and Guidelines for Archeology and Historic Preservation.
- Completion of FEMA courses preferred:
o IS-1001: The Public Assistance Delivery Model Orientation
o IS-1002: FEMA Grants Portal - Transparency at Every Step
o IS-253.a: Overview of FEMA's Environmental and Historic Preservation Review
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in GIS and other relevant software tools for mapping and analysis.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams in both field and office settings.
- EOD Required.
Work onsite in North Carolina
