SPIN Global is a Maryland-based public benefit corporation that exists to disrupt disasters from neighborhoods to nations. We are seeking qualified applicants to build a deployment-ready cadre, prepared to support response operations as opportunities arise. Applicants must possess a FEMA Entry on Duty (EOD).

‬‬‬Responsibilities

  • Conduct floodplain assessments and manage development projects in compliance with FEMA and National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) guidelines.
  • Prepare detailed reports on flood risk reduction strategies and project compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement flood mitigation solutions.
  • Utilize FEMA’s Grants Portal for documentation, reporting, and transparency.
  • Provide technical expertise on floodplain management policies and procedures to community stakeholders.
  • Conduct and participate in FEMA training and development initiatives, including courses like IS-1000 and EMI E0273.
  • Stay current with FEMA regulations and floodplain management best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in a related field with professional registration.
  • Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) certification.
  • Completion of FEMA courses preferred:
    • IS-1000: Public Assistance Program and Eligibility
    • IS-1001: The Public Assistance Delivery Model Orientation
    • IS-1002: FEMA Grants Portal – Transparency at Every Step
    • IS-253.a: Overview of FEMA's Environmental and Historic Preservation Review
    • EMI E0273: Managing Floodplain Development through the National Flood Insurance Program
  • Strong knowledge of FEMA’s Public Assistance Programs and floodplain management best practices.
  • Proficiency in using FEMA Grants Portal and other related tools for reporting and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams and community stakeholders.
  • Work onsite in North Carolina.
  • EOD Required.
