SPIN Global is a Maryland-based public benefit corporation that exists to disrupt disasters from neighborhoods to nations. We are seeking qualified applicants to build a deployment-ready cadre, prepared to support response operations as opportunities arise. Applicants must possess a FEMA Entry on Duty (EOD).
Responsibilities
- Perform on-site inspections of buildings and infrastructure to assess damage and compliance with construction codes and FEMA guidelines.
- Document and report inspection findings, identifying areas requiring repair, reconstruction, or further evaluation.
- Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal building codes and regulations during disaster recovery efforts.
- Utilize FEMA’s Grants Portal to manage inspection records and maintain transparency.
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and program delivery managers to address compliance issues.
- Provide technical input for determination memorandums and appeals related to building and construction standards.
- Stay updated with FEMA training requirements and industry.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent with 5 years of experience in a related field.
- Must meet state licensure or certification requirements where applicable.
- Completion of FEMA courses preferred:
- IS-1000: Public Assistance Program and Eligibility
- IS-1001: The Public Assistance Delivery Model Orientation
- IS-1002: FEMA Grants Portal - Transparency at Every Step
- IS-1004: The FEMA Site Inspection Process
- IS-1018: Determination Memorandums and Appeals
- 7116: Program Delivery Manager
- 7117: Site Inspection
- Proficiency in inspection tools and software for documentation and reporting.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and construction practices.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Work onsite in North Carolina.
- EOD Required.
