SpineSearch is seeking a highly professional medical office assistant to join a concierge orthopedic group with offices in Englewood and Manhattan.
This is a full time, Monday through Friday position with required travel into the city 3-4 days a week.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment.
- Schedule appointments and manage the physician’s calendar efficiently.
- Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and assist with patient inquiries.
- Submit and follow up on prior authorizations for injections and imaging (e.g., MRIs, CT scans).
- Communicate with insurance companies to ensure timely approvals.
- Discuss financial responsibilities with patients, including payment policies and estimated costs.
- Provide detailed explanations of out-of-network billing and assist with superbill preparation for insurance claims.
Qualifications
- 2 years in medical front office administration, preferably in orthopedics, sports medicine, or a concierge practice.
- Familiarity with prior authorization processes, out-of-network billing, and sports medicine procedures.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle sensitive financial discussions with professionalism and empathy.
- High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
