Position Open: Field Assessor
Department: Equalization Office
Spink County, Redfield, SD 57469
Hours: 40 hrs/week M-F
Rate of Pay: $23.79 per hour, increases every 6 months for the first 1 ½ years

As a Field Assessor for Spink County, you’ll work under the direct supervision of the Director of Equalization and be responsible for performing technical and professional work in establishing real property values for tax assessment purposes. Position requires a Certified Appraiser Assessor (CAA) certificate within the first year of employment. Training materials for CAA certificate are provided by Spink County.
Applicants must have: a high school diploma or GED Certificate; knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word; have an understanding of percentages and decimals, must be detailed oriented, the ability to learn the County software systems and numerous state laws; the ability to interact well with the public, have valid driver’s license and be willing to travel.
