Our client is a rapidly growing cloud solutions provider specializing in Azure-based infrastructure and private cloud hosting. This is a full-time direct hire position with a remote-first work model but will require occasional travel to data centers in Pennsylvania and Texas.
The Role You'll Play
As an Infrastructure Engineer (Azure), you will serve as the second-in-command to the Azure Platform Architect, supporting cloud expansion efforts through pre-sales solutioning, cloud infrastructure management, and internal technical enablement. Your role will involve a blend of strategic, technical, and hands-on responsibilities, ensuring seamless Azure deployments and operations.
Azure Pre-Sales Engineering : Collaborate with sales and leadership to scope, propose, and solution Azure-based cloud services for clients.
Infrastructure Management : Oversee Azure environments and private cloud hosting, including firewalls, storage arrays, backups, and VMware infrastructure.
Technical Certification Leadership : Maintain internal compliance with Azure Solution Area certification by holding AZ-305 (Solution Architect Expert) and ideally AZ-700 (Networking).
Azure Portal & Licensing Management : Manage Microsoft licensing, cost optimization, and cloud compliance initiatives.
Mentorship & Training : Guide junior engineers and contribute to internal training programs on Azure best practices.
Occasional On-Site Work : Travel to data centers in PA and TX for hardware setup and maintenance
Background Profile :
The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong Azure infrastructure background, experience in multi-platform environments, and the ability to work effectively in pre-sales and technical solutioning discussions.
5 years of experience in cloud / infrastructure engineering with a focus on Azure.
Certifications : AZ-305 (Solution Architect Expert) is required; AZ-700 (Networking) highly preferred.
Multi-Platform Expertise : Strong experience in Windows, VMware, networking, and hybrid cloud environments.
Pre-Sales Engineering Ability : Comfortable working with sales teams and participating in customer-facing solutioning discussions.
Strong Hands-on Skills : Capable of executing both high-level architecture and hands-on infrastructure maintenance.
Independent & Adaptable : Thrives in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.
Excellent Communication Skills : Able to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred :
Experience working for a Microsoft Partner, MSP, or Cloud Hosting Provider.
Strong understanding of network security, firewall configurations, and cloud security best practices.
Knowledge of AWS or Google Cloud (not required but a plus).
Exposure to ERP hosting solutions or enterprise application hosting.
