A leading precision metal manufacturing company is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist/Programmer to join their Marion, NC facility.
This is a high-impact leadership role for a seasoned CNC professional with expertise in programming, troubleshooting, process improvement, and shop floor management. We are looking for a hands-on CNC Department Lead to drive efficiency, precision, and productivity while mentoring machinists and optimizing operations.

Key Responsibilities & Qualifications
Lead CNC Operations & Process Optimization
Oversee CNC machining operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and precision.
Set up and program CNC equipment, including:
Mazak 2-axis lathes with Mazatrol controls
Haas machining centers with Haas controls
Okuma multitasking lathes with OSP controls
Nakamura multitasking lathes with Fanuc controls
Tsugami Swiss lathes with Fanuc controls
Write and modify CNC programs for single-spindle and multi-spindle turning centers and vertical machining centers.
Troubleshoot and resolve machine setup, tooling, and program issues to maximize uptime and precision.
Develop and improve work-holding and gauging fixtures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Drive process improvements, optimizing tooling, cycle times, and machining strategies.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and manufacturing standards.
Train and mentor machinists, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Who We Are Looking For:
5 years of CNC lathe setup and programming experience in a fast-paced metal manufacturing environment.
Expertise in CNC machining, setup, and troubleshooting – Ability to alter and refine programs on the shop floor.
Proficiency in CNC Swiss Multi-Axis and Multi-Spindle Lathe & CNC Mill Programming.
Strong understanding of G-Code, M-Code, Fanuc, Mitsubishi, and Mazatrol controls.
Work-holding and gauging fixture design experience.
Proficiency in MS Office tools; CAD/CAM experience is a plus.
CNC Tube Bending experience is a plus.
Leadership experience – Ability to manage CNC processes, troubleshoot, and train machinists.
