Role Summary
We
operate in a matrix organization; you’ll have reporting lines to the WMFTS
Global Purchasing Manager and site Supply Chain Manager. The main remit for
this role will be to facilitate and support the purchasing activities of the
business, ensuring operational needs are met, considering the price, quality
and delivery whilst ensuring continuity of supply and best practice.

At Watson Marlow Devens, we’re looking for a Purchasing Manager who’s ready to take our supply chain and procurement strategies to the next level!
What You’ll Be Doing:
Lead & Inspire – Manage and support your team through coaching, mentoring, and regular check-ins to drive success.
Optimize Costs & Contracts – Negotiate with suppliers, analyze purchasing trends, and implement cost-effective solutions.
Drive Continuous Improvement – Enhance purchasing processes, eliminate waste, and introduce digital tools for efficiency.
Collaborate & Align – Work with Group Purchasing to develop strategies and ensure best practices across the organization.
Data-Driven Decision Making – Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement root cause analysis for process improvements.
Ensure Compliance & Sustainability – Uphold legal standards, anti-bribery policies, and sustainability initiatives.
Champion Second Sourcing – Oversee second sourcing strategies to enhance supply chain resilience.
What Makes You a Great Fit:
Degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, or equivalent experience.
Strong experience as a Purchasing Manager, Supply Chain Manager, or Sourcing Manager.
Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong commercial and financial awareness, with expertise in cost models, importation processes, and negotiation.
Analytical mindset with a knack for turning data into actionable strategies.
Self-motivated, proactive, and ready to thrive in a dynamic environment!
APICS or CIPS qualification (minimum Level 5) is a plus!
