This position is responsible for performing a variety of unskilled tasks as required in keeping building and premises in a neat and orderly condition. Also includes the handling of meters, regulators, and other equipment as directed. Duties are performed in accordance with instructions and exercises judgment based on knowledge and experience as acquired on the job.
* Responsibility is limited to the care and handling of office furniture, meters, regulators and other equipment and to follow instructions.
* Work is performed inside and outside causing ordinary discomfort due to dirt, dust, and dampness as encountered.
* Discard condemned meters.
* Receive incoming gas meters and assign bar codes.
* Transport carts, large meters and received goods to designated area.
* General cleaning in and about the building and keeping in good order by gathering and disposing of rubbish and trash.
* Sweep platform, stairways, driveways, walks, including the removal of snow.
* Gathers and stacks meter slats.
* General handling of meters, regulators, or other equipment.
* Dusts meters when required.
* Performs similar tasks as assigned.
* Performs task as described in the training program for the position.
* Backfill for Truck Divers when needed
* All other duties as assigned
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Class A driver's license preferred
* The ability to speak English, read, write, and follow instructions is a requisite.
* Should have a thorough knowledge of Company rules and practices regarding the performance of the duties involved
* Must have working knowledge of pipe fittings, piping procedures, meters, regulator and properties of natural gas. Working experience/knowledge of basic electricity, wiring diagrams, schematics and mechanical blueprints is required. Basic knowledge and familiarity of PCs and associated equipment and their proper mode of operation is required.
* Normal work schedule is 5 over 5
