This part-time, on-site internship is where a student will gain hands-on experience in the aerospace industry by supporting the Technical Sales team and Test Laboratory in day-to-day operations. This position focuses on understanding customer technical needs, learning product solutions, and helping the team with generating leads within the aerospace market, while learning about technical specifications and industry compliance regulations. This role also supports our Lab Technician team by performing hands-on testing of electrical components and systems, utilizing various test equipment like oscilloscopes, power supplies, and data loggers, to verify product functionality and compliance with established standards, while learning about test procedures, data analysis, and troubleshooting techniques under supervision.

Essential Job Functions: Technical Sales
- Lead Generation:
- Research and identify potential new aerospace customers within a designated territory.
- Qualify leads based on technical needs and purchasing potential.
- Product Knowledge:
- Gain in-depth knowledge of aerospace components, including their technical specifications, applications, and industry standards.
- Stay updated on new product releases and industry trends within the aerospace market.
- Sales Support and Management:
- Assist with the creation of sales reports and customer relationship management (CRM) updates.
- Collaborate with the sales team to develop sales strategies and achieve sales targets.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Understand and adhere to relevant aerospace industry regulations and quality standards (e.g., AS9100,ITAR).
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with internal procedures.
- Test setup and execution: Preparing test samples, setting up test equipment according to established procedures, and conducting electrical tests on components like circuit boards, wires, and power supplies.
- Data collection and analysis: Recording test results accurately, analyzing data using specialized software, and identifying trends or anomalies.
- Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving issues that arise during testing, collaborating with technicians and engineers to determine root causes.
- Documentation: Maintaining detailed test reports, documenting procedures, and updating test logs.
- Calibration and maintenance: Assisting with the calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Safety compliance: Adhering to safety protocols within the lab environment.
- Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college pursuing a bachelor's or graduate degree.
- Understanding of basic engineering principles, preferably in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or related fields.
- Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles (circuits, voltage, current, resistance)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with technical customers.
- Enthusiasm for sales and a desire to learn about selling technical products.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
- Familiarity with common laboratory instruments like oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and data loggers.
