Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Level 1 Special Education Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with students, families, and colleagues to provide exceptional educational support and guidance to students with diverse learning needs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities, in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in various academic subjects and life skills development.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to promote inclusive practices and ensure students’ success in the general education curriculum.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, colleagues, and administrators regarding students progress and educational programming.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education.
- Valid Iowa teaching license with endorsement in Special Education (Level I or equivalent).
- Experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in a high school setting.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
