Location: Spirit Mountain Grand Avenue Chalet
Pay: Non Union Starting at $13.44/hour and goes up based on experience
Schedule: Full-time or part-time; flexible hours available
Seasonal Role: Runs mid-May through August (peak starts in June)
Position Overview
Spirit Mountain is looking for energetic, responsible Camp Counselors to help lead our summer programs for school-age children. Whether you're heading toward a career in education, love working with kids, or just want a rewarding summer job, this is a great opportunity to build experience in a fun and supportive environment.
You’ll be working with children in a variety of camp activities — from nature walks and crafts to games and adventure park experiences. No mountain biking skills required, but if you have them, you may assist with beginner-level instruction. Either way, a genuine enjoyment of working with kids is a must.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage with children in daily camp activities
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe environment for all campers
- Help organize group games, creative activities, and outdoor play
- Support biking activities (either by leading or helping manage groups)
- Assist in basic care needs and group transitions throughout the day
- Communicate with co-staff and parents as needed
- Help maintain clean and safe play areas
- Be a role model for respect, teamwork, and fun
Ideal Candidate
- Enjoys being around children and helping them grow
- Patient, reliable, and communicates well
- Can stay calm and upbeat in an active, outdoor environment
- Brings energy and creativity to group activities
- Works well with a team and independently
Preferred but Not Required
- Experience in early childhood, education, or youth programming
- Interest in teaching or childcare (great for students or aspiring educators)
- Prior babysitting, tutoring, or camp experience
- Comfortable riding or instructing mountain biking (not required)
