We are looking for an Accounting Intern for the upcoming 4th of July Season to focus on the accounting aspects of our various operations. Our intention is to provide students with an accounting-based learning experience involving the wholesale, nationwide distribution, and retail sale of consumer fireworks. It would allow students to apply the accounting knowledge they have acquired and to learn new technical skills of reporting and internal control.

The ideal candidate should have a background in Finance or Accounting. The intern must be able to work 40 hours a week. The internship will run Mid-May through the end of July, although opportunities may exist beyond this date.

We are looking for an Accounting Intern for the upcoming 4th of July Season to focus on the accounting aspects of our various operations. Our intention is to provide students with an accounting-based learning experience involving the wholesale, nationwide distribution, and retail sale of consumer fireworks. It would allow students to apply the accounting knowledge they have acquired and to learn new technical skills of reporting and internal control.
Essential Position Responsibilities
- Assist the Accounting Manager with updating financial records on a daily basis
- Analyze financial reports and recommend means of cost reduction
- Complete profitability analysis of retail operations
- Conduct internal audit procedures to assess the effectiveness of financial reporting controls using pre-defined checklists and report findings directly to the Accounting Manager
- Test and evaluate each department’s effectiveness of internal controls by reviewing and analyzing records and reports using internal control software
- Track the effective product movement through the supply chain from manufacturer to customer receipt
- Current college student (Sophomore - Junior - Senior- Graduate)
- Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Strong academic record—minimum 3.3 GPA
- Detail-oriented, well-organized, and reliable
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Great with computers (Mac experience preferred)
