SpiriTrust Lutheran is now hiring a Full Time Day shift Director of Social Services at The Village at Sprenkle Drive in York, PA.
Education/Training: Bachelors degree in social work or social welfare or current social worker license from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania required. Master's degree preferred but not required.
Skill(s): Speak and understand English; proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; excellent interpersonal relations and communicative skills; proficient organizational skills; moderate PC skills; knowledge of general medical terminology; demonstrated management and supervisory skills; valid drivers license when required to meet Programs needs.
Experience: A minimum of three (3) years experience in related positions normally required, including one (1) year of supervised social work experience in a health care setting working directly with individuals.
Essential Duties

Implements and periodically updates written standards and procedures governing the day-to-day operations of the Department.

Works in conjunction with the centers Quality Assurance Committee to develop and implement an on-going quality assurance program.

Ensures that the Department is in compliance with all regulatory requirements; takes appropriate actions to respond to and correct any deficiencies resulting from regulatory surveys and inspections.

Develops, implements, and monitors the Social Services Department budget.

Assesses residents' social and emotional needs; informs new residents or residents' families of their skilled care center rights and provides information concerning Advance Directives; discusses and documents residents' preferences concerning CPR.

Develops a discharge plan for all residents according to established procedures.

Obtains release from residents or responsible party for restraints ordered by physicians.

Audits medical charts periodically for social services documentation accuracy and completeness of required records.
