JOB SUMMARY
The Industrial Engineer is responsible for enhancing production efficiency, implementing process improvements, and ensuring quality management across the Spiritus Systems Campus. This role focuses on optimizing workflows, supporting the introduction of new products, and leading initiatives that drive operational excellence on the production floor. The Industrial Engineer collaborates closely with production, quality assurance, and new product development teams and is expected to spend most of their time on the production floor, actively engaging with the production team to solve problems.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Report to the Production Manager and collaborate on identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives.
- Lead efforts to optimize production systems, including the design and implementation of tooling, fixtures, and jigs.
- Conduct studies to analyze and improve time efficiency and workflow processes.
- Develop quality management strategies to ensure consistent product standards.
- Facilitate the seamless transition of new products from development to production.
- Implement 5S and Lean manufacturing principles to maintain organized and efficient workspaces.
- Provide expertise in ergonomics to improve the safety and comfort of workstations.
- Utilize CAD software for drafting and designing production tools and layouts.
- Work with machine technicians and other team members to execute process improvements and troubleshoot issues.
- Actively work with the production team on the floor, using hands-on skills to build and adjust fixtures, and modify workstations as necessary to enhance efficiency and safety.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process enhancements.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Utilize appropriate software to perform job duties, such as but not limited to ADP, Adobe Creative Suite, AccuMark, Lightburn, Fusion 360, Cutworks, Juki PM-1, Autodesk, Ethos CAD/CAM, Microsoft Office Suite and/or Microsoft Dynamics systems to facilitate job duties.
- Proficiency in CAD software, ideally Fusion 360.
- May be required to travel for trade shows, training events, industry or company events, and/or contract manufacturers.
- May be required to work overtime and/or extended hours depending on business needs.
- Physical requirements may include sitting, standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, and kneeling for up to and including 8 hours.
- Full-time, on-site position.
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience in the industry.
- Must be highly organized, with a high attention to detail and strong project management skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Formal training and experience in Total Quality Management, 5S, and/or Lean Six Sigma.
- Experience in Industry 4.0 IOT and 5.0 AI manufacturing.
- Experience in Pre-determined Motion and Time Systems, such as but not limited to Methods
- Time Measurement, Sewing Performance Data, and/or General Sewing Data.
- Knowledge of textiles and cut-and-sew manufacturing processes.
