Job Summary:
The Controller is responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations and accounting functions for multiple clients, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial reports. This position requires a strong background in accounting and finance, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across various client accounts. The Controller will manage financial statements, general ledger, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance with relevant regulations, while providing strategic financial support to both internal teams and external clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements) for multiple clients.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Prepare and present detailed financial reports to clients, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) and areas of concern or opportunity
Client Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding all financial and accounting matters.
- Provide clients with financial insights and recommendations to support their business decisions.
- Foster strong relationships with client stakeholders, ensuring their needs and expectations are met regarding financial management.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Develop and oversee the budgeting and forecasting process for multiple clients.
- Track financial performance against budget and forecasts, identifying and explaining any variances.
- Work with clients to update financial projections as needed based on evolving business conditions.
Accounting & Compliance:
- Supervise accounting processes for all client accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and tax filings.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, relevant tax laws, and other regulatory requirements across all client accounts.
- Coordinate and manage year-end audits, including working closely with external auditors.
Cash Management:
- Monitor and manage cash flow for clients, ensuring liquidity and optimal use of resources.
- Advise clients on cash management strategies, including managing working capital and mitigating risks related to cash flow.
Internal Controls & Process Improvement:
- Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls and procedures to safeguard client assets and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, streamline workflows, and reduce errors.
Team Leadership and Supervision:
- Lead a team of accountants or junior staff, providing training, guidance, and mentorship.
- Ensure the team meets deadlines and maintains high standards of financial accuracy and compliance.
Technology & Systems Management:
- Utilize accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to manage client accounts.
- Stay current on new technologies and accounting practices to improve efficiencies and financial management practices.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, including experience managing multiple client accounts.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.
- Proven experience with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Leadership experience, with a focus on team development and performance management.

Pay: $135,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
