What Does a Week in the Life of the Helper Look Like?
- Performs any combination of the following duties to assist workers in welding, such as moving work pieces, tools, and supplies, manually or by hand truck.
- Lift, move and hold or clamp work pieces to table, into jigs or into position as directed; manually or by using hoist, pry bars, wrenches, hammer, and wedges.
- Clean work pieces to remove impurities such as slag, rust and grease, using wire brush, grinder or hand scraper.
- Clean and lubricate equipment.
- Practices good housekeeping skills and properly disposes of waste according to safety and environmental policies.
- Understand and follow safety policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills (to Pay the Bills)
Here's a list of a few competencies that the Helper at Spitzer should have…
- Must have verbal skills with fluency for the responsibilities assigned.
- Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs. Standing 80% of the time, walking, climbing, bending, stooping, and heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling while handling material not exceeding forty-five pounds.

Work Schedule
Spitzer currently runs two shifts, Monday through Friday with overtime on weekend work as needed. Late afternoon/evening/weekend hours may be required as needed. Work schedules may change to accommodate production needs.
