Location: Brookshire, TX
Spitzer, a recognized industry leader in designing and fabricating high-specification equipment, is currently seeking a HR Generalist to join our team. The HR Generalist reports to the VP of Operations and is responsible for providing Human Resources support for assigned division, including employee relations, benefits, and human resource policies. Assist in maintaining a safe and secure work environment.
What Does a Week in the Life of the HR Generalist Look Like?
- Assist in administering HR policies and procedures as required by the company.
- Helps to ensure compliance with Federal and State Employments Laws.
- Assist in administration of employee benefits.
- Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions and employee benefits.
- Assist with the Recruiting Process; job posting, coordinating interviews, sending offer letters, processing pre-employment background screening, and coordinating pre-employment drug testing.
- Coordinate new hire onboarding process.
- Enter compensation changes, benefits deductions and wage garnishment information into system in an accurate and timely manner.
- Maintain and keep secure employee medical and employment files.
- Maintain I-9 files and review monthly for expiration of documents.
- Review timesheets and run reports for shop employees to ensure labor hours entered are correct for payroll processing.
- Processing and distributing of paychecks.
- Maintain and ensure proper updating of the leave system.
- Respond to queries from employees, unemployment office and other governmental entities.
- Assist with HR Audits and other special related projects as required.
The following education, experience and knowledge are preferred for this position:
- Minimum of two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of MS Office software.
- Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now Software a plus.
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including federal and state respective employment laws.
- Relevant industry experience is a plus.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Work Schedule
The HR Generalist will work Monday-Friday 7:30 AM-4:30 PM. Spitzer currently runs two shifts, Monday through Friday with overtime on weekend work as needed. Late afternoon/evening/weekend hours may be required as needed. Work schedules may change to accommodate production needs.
