Spitzer, a recognized industry leader in designing and fabricating high-specification equipment, is currently seeking a I&E Technician to join our team.
What Does a Week in the Life of the I&E Technician Look Like?
- Produce components by assembling parts and subassemblies.
Skills (to Pay the Bills)
Here's a list of a few competencies that the I&E Technician at Spitzer should have…
- Run pneumatic tubing.
- Complete the layout of tubing on skids.
- Run tubing to the end devices.
- Bend tubing ¼ - 1 inch thick.
- Read General Adjustment and P&ID drawings.
- Fabricate bracket braces and instrument racks as needed.
- Reading blueprints.
- Familiar with different types of tubing.
- Knowledge of end devices.
- Understanding of system flow.
- Performs required testing of tubing.
- Bending stainless steel tubing.
- Must be able to fabricate and install rigid & aluminum E.M.T,MC-HL and conduit.
- Must be able to read blueprints and read and interpret the National Electric Code requirements.
- Is responsible for making final electrical connections after installation of conduit.
- Is responsible for reporting any problems arising during the test cycle on units.
- Must be able to assist with troubleshooting issues.
- Test control panels and make connections which ensure the function of the panel yields accurate results.
- Certify units, final inspection and test documents.
- Make changes to panel selection, wiring, etc.
- Must be able to use bender.
- Must be able to wire and cable installation by hand, by machine and in cable trays.
- Testing of the instruments (Point to Point).
- Ability to test instruments using a multimeter.
- Ability to open and close electronic valves using HART.
- Ability to test run compressor packages using PLC.
- Ability to program transmitters using HART Communicator.
- Familiar with the different types of PLC transmissions ex (fieldbus, HART, Modbus).
- Understand and follow safety procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule
Spitzer currently runs two shifts, Monday through Friday with overtime on weekend work as needed. Late afternoon/evening/weekend hours may be required as needed. Work schedules may change to accommodate production needs.
