Pet Bather

We are looking for a talented Pet Bather to join our team part time/seasonally. Applicants must be able to perform in a detailed environment and must be reliable.

Requirements:

Minimum of 6 months of professional salon bathing experience required. All applicants must be dependable, detail-oriented and energetic. Ability to perform in a team-oriented environment. Ability to be trained and receptive to feedback. Must have knowledge of dog breeds and a strong ability to handle all dogs, including puppies and seniors, with patience and compassion.

Role Requirements:

• Minimum of 6 months of professional salon bathing experience required with a skill in hand drying, nail clipping, deshedding and slight dematting
• Ability to lift merchandise and dogs up to 50 pounds
• Interact professionally and effectively with all team members
• Learn to correctly identify breeds, coat types, tools, techniques and products
• Maintains productivity levels through established systems, standards and procedures
• Steady and accurate in all job duties
• Receptive to helpful, supportive communication with management and peers
• Utilize and care for grooming tools
• Is trainable and follows all direction to correctly wash and dry a dogs coat
• Must meet state age requirements to work
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Follow all safety procedures and company's standards of quality
• Function as part of a team on a daily basis
• Ability to use POS computer system

Health and Safety:

A bather must have the ability to correctly inspect a pet and recognize any problems. Must be able to properly report these issues in the customer database. Pet Bathers can identify the correct technique and safety procedures and apply them to ALL dogs. They must be able to safely handle animals and recognize stress events and notify the Groomer or Shop Manager.

Cleaning:
You will be required to correctly complete daily, weekly and monthly equipment cleaning and salon cleaning duties. You may also be required to perform additional duties as needed. Cleaning may include but is not limited to the following:

• Picking up and properly disposing pet waste
• Sanitizing soiled areas
• Cleaning kennels and tubs
• Cleaning floors and floorboards
• Cleaning lights and ceilings
• Cleaning walls, doors and glass surfaces
• Cleaning break room and bathroom
• Picking up waste and garbage around the property
• Other duties as needed

Work Environment:

Most job duties are performed in the grooming salon. Position requires bending, kneeling, lifting (up to 50 pounds) and standing for long periods of time. A large amount of time will be spent in direct contact with the dogs, and the remaining time will be with the other salon team members and store partners. The work environment may be noisy and wet. All safety precautions and procedures must be followed at all times.

Job Type: Part-Time/Seasonal position with room for advancement

Pay: $12-$14/hour based on experience
