LEAD CAKE DECORATOR
Splash Café is looking for an experienced Lead Cake Decorator. This individual must be able to maintain quality control & consistency as well as monitoring productivity and efficiency of other cake decorators.
COMPANY HISTORY
In 1991, Joanne Currie and her husband Ross purchased Splash Café in Pismo Beach, CA. Over the next 30 years they became well known for winning the 1st place award for their Clam Chowder at the annual Clam Festival. The café now serves more than 40,000 gallons of chowder a year, and they have been featured in several national and international publications and TV shows. Their success has led them to opening a full-service bakery.
GENERAL
- Work location: 930 Huber Street Suite G, Grover Beach, CA 93433
- Full Time Employment
- Must be available weekends
- The Lead Cake Decorator reports to the Bakery Manager and Operations Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Bake and decorate all cakes and other desserts
- Design custom desserts for special occasions and holidays
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the facility
- Some inventory ordering
- Communicate any employee, inventory or facility/equipment issues to the Bakery or Operations Manager
- Maintain our high food safety and sanitation standards
- Perform opening, closing, and side work
- Other duties as assigned
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- 2 years of cake decorating experience in a bakery facility is REQUIRED
- Must work well with your hands!
- Familiar with the latest cake decorating trends and methods
- Ability to take direction and follow food preparation guidelines
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds at a time

COMPENSATION
- Job Type: Full-time
- Wage: $20 - $23/hour $4-$6/hour in tips
- Raises beginning at 30 days of employment
