Job Description

Job Description

ABOUT OUR COMPANY :

The crushing weight of debt is something that we believe holds people back from reaching their dreams and making a splash in the world. So in 2013, after seeing our friends and family struggle with student loans, we created Splash Financial.

Over the years, our mission has expanded to include helping people with other forms of debt - such as refinancing credit cards, which are at all time highs in the US. And we've been able to refinance $6 Billion in loans through our network of Splash, powered credit union and bank partners who leverage our marketplace and automated loan processing technology. And we've raised over $70 million from investors like partners of DST Global, Citi Ventures, TruStage Ventures, Northwestern Mutual Future Ventures, Detroit Venture Partners, and more.

But at our core, we're still that little company from Cleveland with a big dream : to make people more powerful than their debt and we're just getting started..

ABOUT OUR WORKPLACE :

Splash is remote-first, and proud of it. We spend our days creating ways to simplify financial products, then get them into the hands of people who need help. Right now, we're focused on developing financial technologies that fundamentally change the way the industry lends. And to hire the best, we provide the best : great health insurance, competitive salaries, and unique benefits like quarterly meet-ups, access to community, and engagement tools. And although we've been around since 2013, we still love to think like a start-up — a place that empowers good people to do great things, fast.

We're friendly, folksy, and have Slack channels for both #kids-and-pets and #food. We're good people who want to make a difference in the financial landscape, and we approach tackling challenges with creativity, passion and urgency.

ABOUT THE ROLE :

Splash Financial is seeking a Senior Product Analyst who lives to figure out the why. We want someone who will lead deep dives and look where others didn't think to. This person will tell stories with data for both junior employees and executives to understand. You will help the company stay ahead of data trends, being proactive and knowing when and what to track–and why.

The role will build out a new analytics function that covers the entire company so the candidate must be confident in their analytical skills and be able to have conviction in front of senior management. You will provide analytics for multiple organizations within Splash. Understanding the business as a whole will be a big part of the role. This is not a role where you simply build dashboards. This role reports directly to the VP of Product.

WHAT YOU'LL DO AT SPLASH :

  • Be the lead "Analyst" for the company by building a new analytics structure to support great decision making.
  • You will partner with our data team to build the data analytics function that will allow you and the Product team to self-serve all the underlying data and derive insights for them.
  • You will master and own our borrower funnel and all analysis therein, which is the lifeblood of our company (we want to optimize and be able to offer a loan to everyone who applies at Splash).
  • You will generate insights and recommendations for how we should drive optimizations, growth and ultimately success for the company.
  • You will partner with Credit, Marketing, and Company wide Product teams to brainstorm measurement, attribution and impact for new bets and initiatives.
  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure product performance and success.
  • Analyze any and all data you can source to identify areas for improvement and optimization throughout the company.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPLASH :

  • Bachelor's degree in a probably-quantitative field : business, finance, data, economics or a related field. Any degree works, realistically.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in data science, analytics, strategic finance, business operations, or related fields — preferably in a fintech or consumer marketplace company. We do not have a strict requirement on past roles.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly communicate messages that link business issues, financial results, and strategy.
  • Ability to independently validate large data sets with proven ability to organize and interpret data to surface insights.
  • Strong analytical skills, proficiency in SQL, python and spreadsheet tools is critical for the role.
  • Experience setting up and analyzing A / B tests.
  • You're entrepreneurial and have a track record of being able to identify issues and develop creative solutions with limited guidance, and the ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Expertise in top-of-funnel analysis, revenue analytics, statistical forecasting.
  • You're detail-oriented and organized, focused on efficiency and accuracy and always looking to implement better solutions.
  • SPLASHERS ENJOY :

  • Fully remote work freedom
  • Competitive salary packages
  • Flexible PTO 9 company holidays
  • Equity : Share in our start-up success
  • Comprehensive and affordable insurance benefits
  • Paid parental leave for both caregivers
  • Essential equipment to get the job done
  • 401(k) for your future savings
  • Quarterly meet-ups : In person & virtual fun
  • Awesome Splash swag to flaunt your team spirit
  • Employment at Splash is based on individual merit. Opportunities are open to all, without regard to race, color, religion, sex, creed, age, handicap, national origin, ancestry, military status, veteran status, medical condition, marital status, sexual orientation, affectional preference, or other irrelevant factors. Splash is an equal opportunity employer.
