Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Snow Plow Operator to join our team. This role is essential for maintaining safe and accessible roadways during winter weather conditions. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical knowledge, experience with snow removal equipment, and a commitment to ensuring public safety. This position requires working in various weather conditions and may involve additional landscaping duties during off-peak seasons.
Duties
- Operate snow plow trucks and other snow removal equipment efficiently and safely.
- Clear snow and ice from roads, parking lots, and walkways to ensure safe passage for vehicles and pedestrians.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including checking fluid levels, replacing worn parts, and keeping machinery clean.
- Monitor weather conditions to anticipate snow events and prepare accordingly.
- Assist with landscape maintenance tasks during non-winter months, including mowing, tree trimming, and irrigation.
- Utilize hand tools for various groundskeeping tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate snow removal efforts effectively.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to the operation and maintenance of snow plow equipment.
- Experience in landscape maintenance, including lawn care, hardscape installation, and groundskeeping.
- Proficiency with hand tools for landscaping tasks.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in challenging weather conditions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills to address unexpected challenges during operations.
- A proactive approach to safety practices while operating heavy machinery.
