What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Structural Engineer position at SPM Resources LLC?
SPM Resources has an immediate need for Senior Structural Engineers / Project Managers to support heavy structural and civil design engineering and construction projects in North & South Carolina and Georgia. Qualified applicants will have a BS in Structural or Civil Engineering and a Professional Engineering license. Will be supporting exciting expansion and development of a rapidly growing Southeast engineering consulting firm. Be a part of large-scale transportation and infrastructure development with this growing and dynamic team.
- We also have immediate needs for Structural Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers (FE / EIT).
- All positions have the option to be based in Charlotte NC, Charleston SC, or Columbia SC.
- RESPONSIBILITIES Proficiency in bridges and structures pertaining to engineered solutions for temporary structures and support systems such as girder lift plans and shoring wall systems.
- Concrete Formwork / Falsework Design, Shoring Wall Systems, other structural concrete, steel, timber designs.
- Experience with design-build pursuits with the SC / NC / GA Department of Transportation.
- Manage and develop a team of Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers.
- Have an in-depth understanding and ability to analyze and design according to current design codes, design criteria, and structural mechanics.
- Design of Permanent Structures such as bridges, sign foundations, moment slabs, MSE Walls.
- Assist Project Manager with project log updates and maintenance.
- Assist with implementation of new software (3D CAD, DatuBIM, etc.).
- Identify and assist with the preparation of value engineering proposals.
- Oversee the design of temporary structures including temporary bridges, barge analysis, concrete, steel, girders, heavy lift plans, trestles, permanent structures.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s and / or Master’s Degree or higher in Structural Engineering, Civil
Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
10 years of relevant engineering experience
Experience with permanent and temporary structures and construction engineering.
PE licensure within the United States and ability to obtain additional licensure and certifications as required
Experience with engineering design and drafting software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, RISA-3D, MathCAD, Sky Civ, etc.
Strong understanding of constructability and academic knowledge of structural engineering.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Legally able to work in the US.
