Overview
Key responsibilities of this position are to support the Merchandising team in development and execution of all product strategies. Job functions include, but are not limited to: Managing calendar adherence and account communication specific to product, securing samples for seasonal product line development and account meetings, execution of all merchandising systems and formats to ready styles for production, organizing and maintaining records/samples of full seasonal lines, interfacing with other areas of Unrivaled Teamwear organization to follow up on product changes and execution. The incumbent contributes to the overall achievement of the Merchandising department's financial objectives supporting the business.
Job Responsibilities
Line Development
- Collaborate with Merchandising, Marketing & Strategic Accounts to identify market voids / big ideas
- Assist in the development and execution of the seasonal product lines with Merchandising, Design and Supply Chain
- Participate in key seasonal meetings: Concept Hand-Offs, Cad line reviews, Product line reviews
- Manage entire scope of merchandising related tasks from product development through to line finalization, i.e. recommended line assortment, product mix, changes in competitive direction.
- Maintain seasonal line development records
Seasonal competitive analysis
- Ensure product and positioning are clearly communicated and meet the needs of the target consumer and business unit as outlined and executed in line plans.
- Responsible for understanding cost parameters of the garments to be developed and maintaining costs and achieving margin goals
- Possess a strong working knowledge of retailing and merchandising in this category, staying up to speed on athletic and retail trends in the industry to implement in licensed sports apparel business.
Line Execution
- Serve as the primary point of communication between the Merchandising and Supply Chain teams in the licensed sports apparel business
- Maintain merchandising tracking systems on a daily basis
- Manage the merchandising process with effective communication in order to hit key calendar dates.
- Order and follow through on all samples needed for meetings, photo shoots, and account requests.
- Responsible for coordinating all visual materials, and samples for account presentations
- Accountable for finalization of all products through adoption to production with other key functional groups
- Provide Merchandising updates for all Calendar Timeline meetings weekly
Other
- Autonomously manage numerous projects at any one time while adhering to numerous timelines and account needs.
- Manage ecomm process by optimizing product images to be sold on retailers websites, ensuring quality and consistency
- Daily interface and communication with other functional areas of Unrivaled Teamwear
Minimum Qualifications
- BS/BA, Merchandising or fashion related preferred
- Excellent communication, organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong computer skills and efficiency
- Understanding of the licensed sports retail market
- Good sense of color, fashion, presentation communication both written and in account meetings
- Strong team player
- Self motivated and works well in an entrepreneurial-minded organization
- 3- 5 years experience in apparel product development/manufacturing and/or apparel retail experience
