The Director of Quality at SPOC Automation will play a key role in overseeing the quality control and assurance processes across the entire production lifecycle. Their responsibilities will focus on ensuring that the products meet or exceed industry and company standards, and safety regulations.


Responsibilities:

  • Live SPOC Lift Up culture with constant focus on continuous improvement of our people, processes and products to meet customer and business objectives.
  • Own and manage all aspects of the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure that all production processes align with industry standards.
  • Monitor product quality from design through end of life, ensuring that all products meet the required specifications for use in the field.
  • Conduct audits and evaluations of suppliers to maintain the integrity of the supply chain and resolve any quality issues quickly.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and standards including OSHA, ASME, and others that impact product design, manufacturing, and performance.
  • Regularly analyze production data to identify trends or potential issues, and lead efforts to resolve them before they become significant problems.
  • Manage a quality assurance team including quality engineers, inspectors, and technicians.
  • Collaborate with the training department to develop and conduct training that improves employees' understanding of quality standards, regulatory compliance, and safety protocols.
  • Lead, mentor, and provide ongoing support to team members, ensuring alignment with quality objectives and fostering a culture of quality across the organization.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders including product managers, engineers, and clients to understand their needs and ensure the product meets all quality requirements for use in the field.
  • Collaborate with engineering, sales, and customer experience team to address customer complaints or concerns related to product quality, providing timely resolutions and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate quality reports to senior management, highlighting key quality metrics, issues, and improvements.
  • Use data analytics to track and report on key quality metrics (e.g., defect rates, product performance, supplier quality, cost of non-conformance). Work with engineering, operations and supply chain to continuously improve these metrics.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product management, and operations to identify and implement corrective actions to prevent future issues, focusing on root cause and error proofing.
  • Provide guidance on product design and process changes to maintain product integrity and compliance with quality standards.
  • Define, measure and continuously improve cost of non conformance in all areas


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field. A Master’s degree in Engineering or related field is a plus.
  • At least 10 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, with a focus on quality management, is required.
  • 5-7 years in a leadership or director-level quality role with a focus on driving quality initiatives.
  • Proven experience in leading continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent skills in data analytics, root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to manage results based processes, lead teams and interact with senior management, suppliers, and customers.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address complex quality issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
